The "Battle for the Moustache" continues

Never underestimate a moustacheless Airfix_9. After he bullied through the afternoon, posted a fake picture on our blog (see below), he has found himself a new strategy: keeping mute and sweat it out. Alas, Airfix_9, alas: this is a strategy well known to this author… It will not work! With a loyal team working on the matter, we will continue our battle for the Moustache! The fight is not over yet…

What is the news from the front? Literally dozens of users have changed their team name and their trading card in our game of powersoccer. Forerunners in this were soccerduke27, soroe and Mainmukit. The number of bearded players is growing steadily: crew believes they will run out of ‘hair’ to provide for the moustaches in a matter of days. Moreover, crew members are considering to add the “Airfix_9 moustache” – not the goatie beard but the moustache visible on his team picture – as a special ‘feature’ only to be gained at level 60. In a discussion with low level users, they all told the author that they are more than willing to strive for this special feature. In an unofficial poll conducted by the author, they considered the ‘AF9 moustache’ to be more important than becoming a level 99 or becoming number one in Ranking Points.

After a very successful campaign started by soccerduke27, who surely takes the lead in this battle – Americans have always been willing to engage in a just war, mfsoccer94, another fabulous captain in our struggle, posted an article to be found on the dashboard. As it was of such a great importance and such a high quality, I decided not to post the link but to post the article in question.

Chris Jones; who you may know as Airfix_9 (MA) is faced with the toughest challenge which may be a must.

If you know Chris Jones, the only thing you want him to do is keep his mustache. Recently, the Master Assistant has betrayed the users of Power Soccer by shaving his mustache (he calls it a goatee). In order to bring back this masterpiece I need your help!

Leading the pact, the BMB-Board (you can think of them as the crew of this mission) will be overviewing the work. With a total of five users…I would like to introduce you to our masters.

So far, the campaign is off to a strong start. What can you do to help save ourselves?

All Power Soccer users should add a mustache on their personal picture.
All Power Soccer users should add mustaches (and beards) on their player’s faces. Note: Not one player can come on the pitch without their mustache.
All Power Soccer users should send an email to Airfix_9 asking when he will let it grow again (his email address can be found on his team page)
All Power Soccer users should report directly to The Marx Brother’s clan page.

All users who have known airfix_9 for a long time request his Moustache back. All younger users who only know him by reputation, see him as a role-model and as the closest one might get to perfection… but they don’t see that happen as long as the moustache is absent…

Let’s continue our battle, dear readers, let’s fight until the bitter end! The cause is too great and too just not to continue. Let us have our mascot, our Jeanne d’Arc or Marianne, back! The game of powersoccer has lost a dear friend in the form of our beloved Moustache…

Let’s not end this post depressingly! Let’s look to the bright future where there can be hope and plenty of space for moustaches. What will the day bring: are the first bristles visible again? And are they there to stay forever?
