Nah! Surely he's broccoli?

Well, we have been active a little in the recruitment area and now have two new members to introduce. The first is a bit of an enigma....

He calls himself swedeswede yet hails from the good ol' US of A where swede is less popular than broccoli (dear reader, I can't stand both - which accounts for the lack of iron in my bloodstream). Still, I feel that education is important at whatever age you are (and I am really old), so I decided to research this vegetable.

It would appear that it is a cross between a cabbage and a turnip - which would make the resulting smell interesting at any rate and is best served mashed. "Mashed" is a term in England for being drunk. All of this can only serve to explain why our newest Yank saw fit to make a series of short cookery programmes which he sold to a major TV network.
