As all of you know, we deeply respect TVST. Not only do they have a very artistic name – The Varsity Striking Targeters – they also have a whole series of players who are nothing more than the “crème de la crème” of Powersoccer. If I ever were to join a competitive clan, it would be TVST for sure. They exemplify what some of us find important in life, great friendship combined with a competitive team spirit: if they cannot be the best, then at least almost near the best.
Why am I writing this introduction to one of my blog posts. Simply because I want to massage away some anger that might erupt about a Marx Brothers decision. We recently saw that a certain user, bladesman1, was clan-less although he was one of the center pieces of TVST. That simply was a window of opportunity I could not walk past. And I didn’t.
Bladesman1 is without doubt one of the finest, the wittiest and the most respected users in Powersoccer. He was nurtured and raised in TVST but decided, like many top football players actually, that it was time to sniff some fresh air. He didn’t leave TVST because he was bored there or felt at unease. He left because he felt he had to and was surprised he got an invitation (some time after he left) from the Marx Brothers.
How could we resist NOT to invite this Heir of British Comedy, this Prince of Wit? How could we decide AGAINST accepting this multi-talented Baron of Extraordinary Behaviour? How could we EXCLUDE this Duke of Sportmanship?
We couldn’t and we didn’t. Marx Brothers was founded to bring fun into the game of Powersoccer, to astonish and surprise people day in day out. Marx Brothers was founded to show to users that there is more in life than winning games and being the best. Clan ranking, individual Ranking or Number One Places are not what we need… We stand for quality, we stand for words, we stand for fun. If our latest Marx Brother cannot bring that, then nobody can.
At our TVST brothers we say: don’t be angry, don’t be mad. We consider you to be a clan that above all goes for Ranking Points and excels in that. Wit, humour and fun is not your core business, but a dish on the side. Bladesman1 decided to make wit, fun and humour his personal core business, therefore Marx Brothers is were he found his second home.
