On teaching an old dog new tricks...

I recently half-returned* to the fine establishment that the french call "Foot-Pouvoir"** to learn that our esteemed colleague Airfix_9 has blatted his way to the ripe old age of forty-three. Happy belated, sir! What has he been up to since finally reaching maturity (cough)?

Well, I like to imagine that he has taken up jazz guitar. Here you will find hidden-camera footage of Mr.Fix with some friends*** (that's sipwell on the bass, bladesman on the drums and of course bigdaddyat tickling the ivories), jammin' hard at an undisclosed location: in the bowels of a North Sea oil rig - the only place where the audience can reliably be drunk enough to applaud such an atrocity.

* by half-returned i mean to say that i have managed to make some official matches work and get my rank active again. jimmykilcoo will remain a shell of the crazed PS lunatic he once was (he pledged to himself, his employer, and ms. jimmykilcoo).

** they don't call it that

*** my sincerest apologies to the great geniuses Oscar "not bigdaddyat" Peterson and Joe "not airfix_9" Pass. the timing of the nonsense - especially on the piano and guitar - coupled with the jazz-faces they are all making, is absolutely fantastic. if you haven't heard of messrs Peterson and Pass, here's what that concert actually sounded like:

hot DAMN oscar peterson swings like a (censored). he was a canadian treasure! i was at a club here once, not long before he died, and he walked in to watch the show. when he came into the room the musicians on stage had this expression of awe and reverence and they knew they were being paid a deep respect by having him in the audience. great moment. :)
