jimmykilcoo's got a brand new bag

the other night we were over at mama and papa kilcoo's house, and papakilcoo indicated that he no longer had use for his media-network-centre, a.k.a. the massively under-used xbox360.

i say massively-underused because mrs kilcoo abhors video games, and mr kilcoo only has fingers on one hand (true story, but not as exciting as it sounds so we won't explore that). this meant that it was being used as a dvd player and conduit through which family photos on the hard drive in the basement were viewed on the big screen.

they upgraded to a mad propah swish new unit, which left poor little xbox360kilcoo going spare. so i decided to give him a loving home (much to the chagrin of ms. jimmykilcoo). i got it all set up, played a few unsatisfying rounds of the sample pingpong game they had, and thought... what kind of game is my favourite to play, that i haven't been able to play for a while, largely due to computer-crapness-and-site-security-concern-related frustrations?

e-footie, of course!

and what popular, if heretical-to-mention-in-this-blog, e-footie game has recently released a sexy new version complete with every crease and pock-mark in wayne rooney's ugly mug, and headers that are rarely (if EVER) successful?

that's right folks, jimmykilcoo bought fifa10. and it. is. amazing. i don't even feel guilty about it.

Played FIFA10 the other day. I was 2-0 down to Aldershot when I gave it up as a bad job!

yeah, it's wicked hard!

my first game i played as Lyon vs Toronto FC (to give myself a fighting chance).

within ten minutes Jean-Alain Boumsong had been sent off (Dewayne DeRosario missing the ensuing penalty kick) - very realistic!

however at the end of the first half i was 2 goals down, both having been scored by Pablo Vitti, which doubled his scoring tally for this entire season. so they get some things right, and some things wrong.

side note: the "text-verification" word i have to type in to prove i am not a bot today is "hotswine" - how topical!
